I reviewed my practice test with Craig Parson today and yesterday had felt not to take the CBT 10 Verbal Reasoning portion when I took the test so I took an Exam Cracker portion yesterday. Today, I decided that I would take the CBT 10 verbal…I GOT AN 8!!!!! I am so ecstatic. Today I worked and prayed so hard about verbal, it has been on my mind so much. Anyway, the thought kept coming into my mind that maybe I should do like I saw in one of the books, and just really utilize the highlight function and I did, and it helped me to remain focused so well! I am so happy…so happy!
It is the Lord that helped me to accomplish this feat and I accredit Him for all my success in this realm. Here is what I did that I think helped me the most:
- Underline anything and everything that seemed to contribute to the main idea
- Key people
- Common themes
- The main idea portions of the paragraphs
- Anything that strikes me as odd or against the author's main ideas
- Main idea
- Relax and have in my mind the timing: 51,43,34,26,17,09
- Realize, "Hey, I can understand this thing"
- Made sure I read the passage thoroughly underlining all I could
- Prayed for enlightenment and that my mind would be quickened by the spirit of light and truth
- Read intensely
I am so grateful for the Lord's divine help and inspiration. I know that this is His doing and that if I can acquire light and truth and learn through His ability to quicken my mind, I will achieve a good verbal reasoning score. I know I will.
Chaz Wilnour helped Rachel and I learn more about our apartment today. Well, at least he walked through the apartment we want to live in. I think it could be nice, but I'm not sold. I think we could do better, or find a place a little more suited to our needs. Anyway, that's just a side note.
Night.
