Man alive. I have been working on this personal statement since last Wednesday! My word, it has required long hours and intense thoughts to pen, what the admissions committee deems, the "PERSONAL STATEMENT". I am not venting, I am not complaining, I am simply writing in this here journal that the process is long and difficult. Last year I spent an (underestimated) 80 hrs. on my personal statement. Looking back on it, that was far insufficient. Working at the pace I have for the last week (7-10 hr. days) makes last year seem like a cake walk. Now, I can just see myself two years from now laughing at my childlike comments about the difficulty of drafting a personal statement as I complete laboratory manuscripts and clinical write ups. I think all I would like at this very moment is clarity of mind in being able to outline what it is I want to explain and describe. Perhaps I should write on paper? I will give that a try.
Let's keep pushing through the dirty work to live the dream!! We've got this!
